CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY ROUNDTABLE to be held on Thursday, October 8th. 2009. The day will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the session will finish at 3 p.m. Registration will take place between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. Remarks by our keynote speaker, George Smitherman, minister of energy and infrastructure, who will be speaking shortly after 8 a.m.

Our lunch keynote speaker will be Tim Hudak, leader of the Official Opposition at Queen's Park.

Now that infrastructure stimulus funds have been announced by both the federal and provincial governments, this will be an opportunity for construction labour and management to assess the situation. Our facilitator John Butcher has prepared some questions for the group to address. For example, "What has worked well with the roll-out of infrastructure and related stimulus spending? What concerns do we have? How could those concerns be addressed in future spending roll-outs?"

The Construction Industry Roundtable will be held at the MaRS Building in downtown Toronto (SE corner of College St. and University Ave.).
